The Stationery Shop...from the moment Roya opened the door, I have been picturing this place in my mind. The author painted such vivid pictures of each time period, of each character and event. I felt like I could smell the food cooking, taste the melon, feel the cold of the ice...Marjan Kamali, you are unbelievably talented.

There are so many haunting passages, which make me wonder if Marjan Kamali knows the pain of lost love. Here is one sentence that just won’t let go of me:  “It is a love from which we never recover.”

Sigh.
