What I Read Wednesday: 6 February 2019
One night I couldn’t sleep and I didn’t want to wake my Boy with my lamp, so I downloaded a free iBook. It was a pretty forgettable romance novel with more ups and downs than one should endure in 300ish pages, but it did the trick and put me to sleep for a couple of nights in a row.
I wasn’t planning on reading this one right now but I was walking through the library and it just jumped out at me (from the wrong shelf, which I think is how I knew it was there for me). I inhaled it in a day…Starr’s voice is unforgettable, and she describes a world I’ve never visited. But, I don’t for a second think this world doesn’t exist, I’m just unaware of it. I definitely want to understand more…and be better.
I love Annie F. Downs , her voice and her authenticity and her bravery and her brokenness and her love for her people and her Jesus. She wrote a (another) book for young women, so I ordered it as a happy for Kayci. I read it first to see if it was a good fit for my girl, and I think it was meant to be my book all along. 💕
